Vaiko, more than everyone els...Dear Mr Raghuraman,

Vaiko, more than everyone else must be aware of the damage that Vijaykanth's talks would wreck on the fortunes (if any) credibility of the coalition partners. Perhaps, his statement that he and Thiruma would be on the two sides of Vijaykanth is literal reference to curtail any damage that VK would cause while reacting to press and others.

But the news is that VK would not speak in meetings. This can not happen without Premalatha being part of this decision. Already she is the star speaker in the meetings and she uses VK only as a show piece. She is also aware of the damage caused by VK's speech. VK himself must be aware of his short comings and he must have been a party to this decision not to speak in the meetings. This is do or die election for VK also and so would do everything to boost up his party's prospects.

More than anything else, would the votes of other partners transfer to DMDK is a question. Would Thiruma's vote bank accept VK and his vanniyar vote bank? Would Thiruma continue in the coalition as he has always sided with the Dravidian majors and tasted victory in the past? He has expressed good words about JJ very recently. How long it would take for him to leave the present coalition, making something out of what VK says (would say) and join ADMK? Remember, JJ brought back 'kariveppilai' Sarath kumar on the day VK joined PWF. Apparently she did not like any addition of vote share to that Front. Already some DMDK men had defected to ADMK after VK joined the PWF. More such defections can be expected in the coming days. Thiruma also is a cat on the wall.

The main victory that Vaiko can gloat of is to have upset DMK by getting DMDK not to join DMK. But that is not because of Vaiko. As I wrote in the previous post, that is the result of a master strategy to isolate DMK and Congress and finish them in this elections.

The early symptoms have started for that. Alagiri's meeting with MK is a sign of weakening DMK after MK's times. Split in DMK is imminent after MK's exit.
