But menses may occur anytime and is not controllable. So it is only to keep purity and not to discriminate.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16810881859884375618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3442555339667770589.post-67387646866543376682016-04-24T18:28:11.327+05:302016-04-24T18:28:11.327+05:30Yes Mr Raghunathan. His words "Judges should not dictate religious practises. Political activists should not be allowed to use temples for political agitation." deserve akshara laksham. What I dont understand is while the judgement on Chidambaram Deekshithar case observed that the Govts can not interfere in religious practices why that is not followed by courts in other judgments? Why that judgement is not taken as a precedent for other judgments?

Quoting from http://www.newsbharati.com/Encyc/2014/1/10/SC-frees-Chidambaram-Nataraja-temple-from-rule-of-TN-Govt

"In its clear-cut verdict, the SC says that a religious denomination or organization enjoys complete autonomy in the matter of deciding as to what rites and ceremonies are essential according to the tenets of the religion they hold and no outside authority has any jurisdiction to interfere with their decision in such matters."

Sabarimala, Shaneesxwara temple et al come under the authority of their respective board of trustees. Is not judicial intervention akin to Govt control over them which Deekashithar judgement seeks to end?
