Day 13 of Garbottam 2016-17 (Rains in 2nd week of December 2017)

Previous articles:-

Day 12 of Garbottam started around midnight of 8th January 2017 and ended around midnight of 9th January 2017.

The impact would be felt between 2ndDecember 2017 and 15th December 2017.

Observation:

(1) Wind:- Still air, occasional breeze.

(2) Rain:- Nil.

(3) Lightening:- Nil.

(4) Thunder:- Nil.

(5) Clouds:-  There was meagre cloud formation in the morning.

At 10-30 AM (Yet to pick up)

By noon whitish spread of clouds was seen in the east and south. They started crossing the Sun in bunches. Between 12-30 PM and 2-00 PM clouds were crossing the Sun frequently.

At 12-30 PM

At 1-45 PM

3-some features:-

(1) Terrestrial :- Behaviour of birds normal.

(2) Atmospheric :-  (1) No breeze.  (2) Hot day. 3) Blanket of whitish clouds enveloped east and south around noon and later were seen in south and west. Small bunches of clouds were seen in mal-formed aquatic forms.

(3) Planetary:- (1) Stars and planets appeared bright  (2) All planets were in Southern declination. No halo around sun, moon and the planets.

Impact dates between 2nd December 2017 and 15th December 2017.

Rainfall support features:-

(1) Mercury – Venus closeness begins on 13th December 2017 and ends on 9th January 2018. On 13th December, 2017, these two planets are approaching each other at a distance of 5 degrees. However the reduction in gap starts earlier on 3rd December itself coinciding with the start of this fortnight. The important dates that can trigger rainfall or a meteorological event are as follows:

(a) 3rd December 2017 - Mercury begins retrogression at a distance of 27 degrees from Venus. From this date onwards the gap between them starts getting reduced.

(b) 6th December 2017 - Both Mercury and Venus begin combustion. This is a very strong trigger for a meteorological event in the Bay.

(c) 9th December 2017 – Mercury re-enters the previous sign, Scorpio (watery sign) to join with Sun and Venus. This is a strong trigger for good rainfall in the northern regions of the east coast. North TN and regions north of it benefit.

(d) 13th December 2017 – Mercury crosses Sun to be close enough with Venus and there is no planet in between Mercury and Venus from then onwards. Good rainfall in North parts of the east coast and North Tamilnadu.

(e) 15th December 2017 – Venus crosses Mercury in forward motion and for the first time since March in the year 2017, Venus starts marching in front of Mercury and soon other planets. Venus in front of mercury in particular and other planets in general gives a more and frequent rainfall.
(f) Combustion of Venus continues till January 2018.

Rainfall spoiling features:-

 (1) Saturn is the lead of all the other planets during this fortnight. This is a rainfall spoiler.

 Inference:-

The much anxiously watched Garbottam did happen very well between 12-30 PM and 2-00 PM. This exactly coincides with the start of the strong rainfall yoga facilitated by Mercury – Venus closeness. The middle dates of the fortnight, say, from 6th to 10th December, there is likelihood of rains.

Nearly a year long rainfall spoiling yogas come to an end as this fortnight begins. Though this is the fag end of NEM season, going by the rainfall supportive features explained above, I am tempted to say that the actual beginning of NEM 2017 or the maximum realisation from NEM 2017 is likely to happen from the 2nd week of December 2017 that would stretch upto January 2018 due to the strength of supportive planetary combinations which is absent at the current times in January 2017.

With this we are coming to the end of Margazhi Garbottam of 2016- 17 which is the 3rd level indicator of the rainfall seasons of 2017. A gist of the entire Garbottam period would be posted tomorrow. What remains now is the 4th level indicator by way of daily observation of Garbottam till June. An integration of all the 4, particularly the last 3 levels would give an idea of the prospect of rainfall on a daily basis from July 2017 onwards.
