Cure from Astrology and Music.

Colours, radiation, vibrations etc are all part of astrology. Two news reports are given below on how music heals and on the recognition for astrology to recommend cures for heart ailment.

Sound vibrations are the basis of Vedic chants and homas. When Narada visited Vyasa in the Himalayas (this narration is in Mahabharatha), he found the sage and his disciples engrossed in mediation in a very calm environs with no sound heard anywhere.

Narada did not approve of this 'dead' silence and advised Vyasa to immediately start vedic chantings aloud. He said the chantings must vibrate the icy mountains. The chantings alone produce the necessary atmosphere conducive for prosperity and peace of the world. Though Vyasa was withdrawn form the worldly life, he was not entitled to shun vedic chantings. He must see to it that the chantings were vibrating the atmosphere all the time.

That is the purpose of Vedas – the life enricher.

The acoustics of Vedas are further improvised in Music.

The seven notes of music are further related to the planets signified by specific vibrations of their own. And every planet also signifies a specific colour. The all-in-one nature can be explained as follows:-

1 – 'ma' (madhyam) -Moon – white or yellowish tint.

2- 'ga' (gandharam) - Sun - Golden colour

3- 'ri' (rishabham) - Mars - red

4- 'sa' (shadjam) - Mercury - green

5- 'ni' (nishadham) - Venus - multi colour

6- 'dha' (dhaivatam) - Jupiter - Yellow.

7- 'pa' (panchamam) - Saturn – blue

It will be good for humanity if the many faceted use of astrology is revealed to the world. With patronage and recognition, it is possible to expand the applicability of astrology to solve contemporary problems in diverse areas.

Curing heart ailments through astrology may sound bizarre, but Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi has taken up such a project
"After considerable deliberations and a series of interviews, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has allowed us to start this project. We have received an approval letter

The project is on how to prevent and cure heart related diseases through astrology," said Dr Shatrughan Tripathi, a professor in BHU's astrology department
According to Dr Tripathi, astrology is a therapy too
He said, the ancient books are replete with mentions of diseases and treatments
"Through astrology one can diagnose heart diseases in human beings, when it can happen, and during what situations it can happen," Dr Tripathi said

"We are not doing anything new, all these dis eases have been mentioned in our ancient holy books

We are trying to bring the same things to the people, but in a scientific manner." The UGC-sponsored project is expected to revive scientific study of astrology and the "relation between ailments and planetary positions." The project has given rise to "astrology hospitals" in Varanasi where patients are prescribed semi-precious stones, beads and herbal medicines for heart related ailments.
