Mahabharata Quiz - 101

Click here for the previous question

Question – 101

What astronomy evidence can be cited for extra-terrestrial impact? Were they palpable from the earth?

Answer:

Apart from the change in phase of the moon, four features of the cosmos were noted and recorded by Vyasa. They are as follows:

1.     The star Arundhati (Alcor) which is seen behind the star Mizar (Vasishtha) was found to have changed position with Vasishtha. That is, Vasishtha was seen behind Arundhati.

2.     The Dhruva nakshatra made an opposite movement. Generally, while facing North we will find Dhruva nakshatra just stationary. But it is seen to move in west to east direction.

3.     Mars positioned in Scorpio along with the Sun was seen to have made retrograde movement which is impossible to happen. Mars as an outer planet cannot regress while it is seen in the same sign as the Sun.

4.     Two planets have risen with coppery red crest. This is contrary to the normal appearance of bluish tint on top of the planets in rising.

Presented my book “Mahabharata 3136 BCE” to the Vice President of India

Following the release of my book “Mahabharata 3136 BCE: Validation of the Traditional Date” on 14th November by my family Guru-s at Kanchipuram, I sent my book to the Vice President of India, Sri Venkaiah Naidu for his reading with a covering letter explaining why my book should be read. I requested time to meet him in person to present the book and explain the salient features in person. The Vice president kindly consented to my request and granted me time to meet him at the Chennai Raj Bhavan today during his Chennai visit.

His simplicity and making himself accessible to a common man like me was uppermost in my mind when I met him that I quoted the Tirukkural verse (Kaatchikku eLiyan) on how a ruler who is simple and makes himself available to the people is praised by the world. I also told him that I didn’t bring any bouquets or shawls or costly items, but only a book that is a befitting a scholar like him. Disapproving the bouquets and such other stuff, the Vice president said he was pleased to receive the book than anything else.

I explained him how I have authenticated the Janamejaya grant in possession of the Bhimanakatte Matha (pages 148 to 158 in my book) and presented him the mail of appreciation sent to me by the Swami-ji of the Matha. The grant offers clinching evidence to the year of the beginning of Kali Yuga when Parīkshit ascended the throne following the departure of Kṛṣṇa and the Pāndava-s. Thirty-five years before that, the war had taken place.

I conveyed the desire of the Swami-ji to commemorate the day of the grant (Pushya Amavasya) from next year onwards and the need to declare the authenticity of the grant.

This was the foremost request in my Letter of Request presented to the Vice President.

Other points of request are as follows:

Ø  Similar grant issued by King Janamejaya on the same date to Uṣā Maṭha in Kedārnāth to be retrieved (p.158 in my book).

Ø  Kali Yuga date to be corrected to 3101 BCE in the Gregorian calendar-reckoning (p.115).

Ø  Kali Yuga date to be inserted in the Astronomical Almanac (p.114).

Ø  Probe to be undertaken to carbon-date the so-called ‘massacre-victims’ of the Lower Town of Mohenjo-Daro (p.278-281).

Ø  Probe to be undertaken to test the radiation levels at the Lower Town, as reported by David Davenport, to check meteor impact (p. 279).

Ø  Probe to be undertaken to determine the date of the impact at Langtang landslide location (p.284-285).

Ø  Marine excavation to be undertaken to the west of Prabhāsa to determine the location of Kṛṣṇa’s Dwārakā (Chapter 18).

The Vice President promised to forward the Request Letter to the concerned people.

Then I got my book autographed by him for my possession.

Then I presented two other books, the abridged print version of my e-book “Myth of The Epoch of Arundhati of Nilesh Nilkanth Oak” and a booklet titled, “When was the First Vedic Homa done?” I told him how my Dharmic Anger against the so-called Epoch of Arundhati led me to validate the Traditional Date of Kali Yuga and the Mahābhārata war.

It was a satisfying visit and I thank the Vice President for making it memorable.

I am thankful to the staff of Raj Bhavan for delivering my three books (Mahabharata, Myth and Vedic Homa) to the Governor’s Desk since I didn’t get prior appointment to meet him personally to hand over the books, particularly “Mahabharata 3136 BCE”.

With the blessings of my Acarya-s and the Swami-ji of Bhimanakatte Matha my task continues to stop the distortion of Vyāsa Mahābhārata and Kali Yuga Time scale.

The books can be obtained by writing to jayasreebooks@gmail.com.

 Update:

My meeting with the VPI to present my Mahabharata book was reported as box- news in Eenaadu, the popular Telugu Daily the next day (28th Dec, 2021).  It was earlier reported in 'News Today' published from Vadapalani.

It reads as
"Here is the picture of Dr. Jayasree Saranathan, Writer & P.hD holder in Astrology, accompanied by her husband, handing over the book 'Mahabharata 3136 BCE' authored by her to Vice President Sri. Venkayya Naidu at Raj Bhavan on Monday."

Plastic Earth - the new avatar of Bhu Matha

Published in Vijayavaani

Human beings have made epoch- making changes to the world – in the true sense of the term! An epoch is defined as a sub-division in the geological time-scale and it has always happened naturally by Nature’s work. But in the past half a century or so, the very texture of the land or rather the geology of the upper crust of the earth has undergone transformation mostly due to human action. The amount of plastic discards that are being dumped into the ground is phenomenal all around the globe. Advanced nations dump more than the rest and their contribution to the earth’s soil includes more advanced and even lethal components of radio active material and electronic goods. The ever increasing dumping of these man made items to the earth’s crust has given rise to the thought to name the current epoch as Anthropocene – the new age of Man formed by his own actions.

Though the new name suggested is yet to be accepted globally, scholars have come to accept as fact the irreversible change to earth’s geology by human action. Speaking on this, Professor  Zalasiewicz of the international Anthropocene Working Group has said,

“Our research suggests changes to the Earth have resulted in strata that are distinctive and rich in geological detail through including such things as artificial radionuclides, plastics, fly ash, metals such as aluminium, pesticides and concrete. And, while the term does reflect change of significance to human society, and may be used in social and political discussions, it is based upon an independent reality.” (Read more here)

This reality of earth which is going to stay more vigorously and rigorously in the coming decades and centuries reminds me of some of the finest ideas of Vedic society on earth as Bhu Matha or Prithivi.
Two entities take the beating whenever there is degradation and destruction in human values; they are cow and earth. Both are held sacred and divine as they are the life givers. When there is degradation of Dharma and value system, the cow is personified as having got its legs cut and the Bhumi or earth is said to have vanished or got lost. The Age in which this happens is Kali. Deep into the age of Kali, we are now witnessing in real and painful terms the suffering heaped on these two soft entities.

Of these two, scholars around the earth have come to recognize the assault on the earth but nothing has been done to stop this change of texture to the crust of earth or to preserve the original texture of earth.

Thinking of this, it is even an offence to hit or kick the earth in 0ur ancient Vedic culture. Even for digging the earth for laying the foundation, special pujas have to be done as if taking permission from the earth to dig.

When King Prithu, for the first time in the history of Bharat introduced cultivation which required digging the earth, it was accepted as it amounted to extracting the wealth from the earth. Earth is called Bhumi because it is rich in all kinds of wealth, so says Bhu Sooktham.  What is entrenched inside earth is so borne by the earth for the sake of her children – the mankind. Earth is ready to give and has always borne any assault on her by mankind which is out to extract maximum benefits from her. But today we are forcing all sorts of unwanted things into her belly which is poisoning her very nature. A poisoned earth can not give back any wealth to us.

There had been difficult times for earth in the past too on which occasions she was said to have gone into hiding under water. After many epochs she was retrieved from water to be able to give place for people to live. The avatar of Varaha is a personification of the times when she was uplifted from water, pure and full of nourishment for all living beings including mankind to survive.

It appears the presently started age of Anthropocene that is out to spoil earth due to foolishness, greed and lack of foresight on the part of mankind could end only when touched by water. That means only a Pralaya can put a stop to this age of Anthropocene.

Pralaya could wash out life but at the same time it is also true that water purifies. Perhaps a massive and prolonged inundation of the spoiled lands can cleanse the land of all it poisons and dirts. And then will come a time when the land surges up from the waters which we call as an act of Varaha; and Aswins would do the healing by spreading herbs; and Vishnu would sustain life in the new lands. In short the earth would have passed through recycling to enrich life once again.

But the wisdom of sages as understood from the hymn of Atharva Veda on Prithvi ((Chapter 12-1) shows that only those who abuse earth would stand to suffer. The concluding verse seeks blessings of Earth to give us a secure place. What we get, we have to give back. So the society that keeps Earth secure would in turn find her give secure place for them to live. Will this country of Vedic seers realize that keeping Prithivi unharmed is equally important as keeping cows unharmed?

Rainfall 2017 – Level 2 (Planetary combinations)

Previous article:-

This is one of the difficult posts to write due to its importance and also because the year 2017 is going to have many combinations that do not support rainfall. From 2016 experience it can be said that even if the Garbottam is good at a place, if it is not supported by planetary combinations, the rainfall would fail. For example even though the daily Garbottam chart for December 2016 for my place showed rainfall around Christmas and particularly on 26th Dec in good amount,  nothing materialised. The formation of a system is there in the Bay that was expected to give some rains to the coastal regions of TN including Chennai. But that expectation died out by 26th.

This was inspite of the continuing presence of rainfall yoga of Mercury – Venus closeness that is supposed to be over only on 29th December. However there also exits two spoilers. One is that though Mercury and Venus were closing the gap between them all these days, from 19th Dec onwards, the gap started increasing as Mercury started retrogression on 19th  Dec. Between 19th Dec to 29th Dec, the gap between them increased from 28 degrees to 46 degrees. When this fast separation is happening, the expected rainfall can not materialise.

Another feature that is happening in this 10 day period is Mercury’s transit in Pooradam star which is a spoiler for rainfall as per Sapta Nadi. Between 22nd Dec and 28th Dec 2016, Mercury is transiting this star. This transit is supposed to cause winds to push away the clouds. Thus we can see an inter-play of many contradictory features spoiling rainfall.

It is a tough task to integrate the contradictory features of year 2017 in the right way to understand how the rainfall scenario is going to unfold.

Year 2017 is not going to start in a happy note because we are carrying over from the year 2016  a bad rainfall Yoga of Mars being in the forefront of all the other planets. This is going to last till 29th July 2017. Its bad influence in affecting rainfall can be known from the date it started its onward march on 25th August of 2016. From then onwards, it is all a case of botched up rainfall with only two exceptions that saw the century’s highest rainfall for September for Hyderabad and a devastating cyclone Vardah in December for Chennai. Those exceptions had their planetary justifications.

Therefore I once again reiterate that it is a much difficult task to judge which of the rainfall combinations can overpower this Martian march in the pre-monsoon and the onset of monsoon time of 2017.

If I am proved wrong I would be happy for it, for, I cannot see many positive features for a successful rainfall season of 2017.

Let me list down all the positive and negative features here. After listing them down, I have given a table of dates for rainfall and possible spoilers after integrating the spoilers.

Rainfall combinations (Ativrishti yogas) for 2017.

(1) Venus- Mercury closeness in 2017.

1
March 7 to March 25
2
April 20 to June 21
3
August 27 to October 8
4
December 13 to January 9

Comment.
On the starting dates of the above 4 periods, some spurt in rainfall can be expected. It could be sustained for the duration of each period. Mercury- Venus closeness is favourable during pre-monsoon, onset of SWM and later part of SWM. NEM period looks short.

(2) Sun overtaking Mars.

This is not exactly a Yoga, but in a scenario when Mars is in the lead of all the planets this gains importance. This happens on 29th July in the star Pushya in the watery signs of Cancer.

Comment.
Pushya signifies East and Cancer signifies North. In North, east or North east, sudden rains accompanied with stormy weather can be expected on or after 29th July.

(3) Venus in the Eastern sky transiting Magha, Purva Phalguni, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta and Chithrai

This is one of the positions of Venus associated with rainfall conditions. This happens between September 15th to November 8, 2017.

Comment.
This kind of location for Venus and Mercury in certain stars in the east or western sky is mentioned in texts as supportive or disruptive of rainfall. The above location is supportive of rainfall. We have to see how far this materializes. The stars transited by Venus indicate South East and South West India covering entire Peninsular India.

(4) Venus – Jupiter conjunction.

This conjunction happens between November 3rd  and November 26th   in the NEM season. This must ensure good rains. But from Nov 19th onwards, till Dec 10th Mars will be in Chithra star which would reduce the rainfall as per Sapta nadi Chakra. Another weakening factor is the absence of closeness between Mercury and Venus during this period. Mercury is ahead of Venus and Jupiter during this period.

Comment.
Very brief period of rainfall beset with spoilers.

(5) Saturn – Sun- Mars in alternating signs.

From December 16th onwards, these three planets are going to be in alternating signs. Closeness of Mercury and Venus starts a little earlier, on 13th December. When Moon comes in Aries from which these 3 planets would be in 7th and 9th signs from Moon, there would be rains. That would be at the end of December on 28th, 29th and 30th. This is a very short period of rainfall. However starting from 6th December Mercury starts combustion.  On the same day, Venus also starts combustion. In the absence of any spoiler at that time, some rainfall can be expected. The stars indicate that South and South west TN would get rains from this.

Comment.
For the first time in the year, not many spoilers are seen during this period. However till 23rd December Saturn would be in the forefront of all the other planets which is not a desirable feature for rainfall. Only a good Garbottam can give a saving grace.

Lack of Rainfall combinations for 2017 (Anavrishti yoga)

(1) Throughout the year of 2017, Venus is behind the Sun. This reduces rainfall.

(2) From the beginning of the year till 29th July, Mars is in the forefront of all the other planets. This causes drought like conditions.

(3) From January 27th to May 31st, Venus and Jupiter are going to be in exact opposite signs. Venus- Jupiter opposition spoils rainfall. On the other hand, the conjunction of these two planets causes abundance of rainfall which happens only between Nov 3rd and Nov 26th as written above.

(4)  From March 14th to April 13th Sun is going to be opposite to Jupiter. This also spoils rainfall in the pre-monsoon period.

(5) From June 14th to June 20thSun and Mars are going to be opposite to Saturn. This also reduces rainfall. But at this time mars would be rising and Saturn would be setting. When one planets rises and another planet sets simultaneously, there would be rainfall. So there is going to be a mix of both these yogas. The regions under influence are West and North parts of India.

(6) From June 29th to July 26th, Venus is going to be in the opposite of Saturn. This would also affect rainfall. This is also a case of one planet rising and one planet setting. To some extent this must give rainfall after a struggle. South India comes under the influence of this.

(7) Mars in front of Venus. This happens between 21st August to 27th August in the watery sign of Cancer. But this continues till October 5th , a period crucial for both SWM rainfall and timely onset of NEM rainfall.

(8) Mars will be in Leo between 27th August and 13th October. This is a rainfall deficient period. However from September 15th to October 9th, benefic Venus would join it and benefic Mercury would join it till 26th September. When benefics join Mars in Leo, the anavrishti yoga would be scuttled and it would rain.

(9) All planets behind Saturn. From September 17th onwards all planets are going to be behind Saturn. This causes famine conditions. This continues till 23rd December.

Dates of rainfall.

The year shows brief pre-monsoon showers right from March. The onset time of SWM also shows many negative combinations. There is a long hiatus in July and August with absence of rainfall support yogas at that time. There is no clear indication of withdrawal of SWM as the revival of rains spreads over September and October with spoilers at regular intervals. Second half of December shows scope for rainfall. The constant existence of contradictory yogas this year points to a deficit rainfall and concurs with Vegetable horoscopy for 2017 discussed earlier.

If these findings come true, it means the Hevilambi year prediction is true to the core and it is not right to use Tamil prediction for Keelaka varusham for North India. However the Margazhi Garbottam must be integrated with this 2nd level prediction to get a refined picture.
