Hindusthan has to regain its role as a global economic power

Savings to the extent of 25 to 30% of the GDP or one's own income is said to be healthy economics for a nation or for the individual. The figures for Indian savings in Swiss bank show amazing wealth trends of Indians - a few Indians!

Read the following article by Dr S.Kalayanaraman in
http://www.organiser.org/dynamic/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=283&page=8

Some excerpts:-

"The story of Independent India has been a continuation of the social structure left by the British colonial regime with the ruling class appropriating a significant percentage of the national income. The impoverishment of the 65 per cent of the people dependent upon the village economy is the most serious impediment to India regaining its rightful place in the comity of nations as an engine for increasing total world output. Maddison had shown that "India had the world's largest economy in the 1st century and 11th century, with a 32.9 per cent share of world GDP in the 1st century and 28.9 per cent in 1000 CE. United India had 22.6 per cent of global GDP in the year 1700 compared to 23.3 per cent of entire Europe".

It is possible to regain that stature for India in the world economy. Two immediate steps should be taken.

The monies held in Swiss Bank accounts by Indians should be nationalised under Benami Transactions Prohibition Act, 1988 and the onus of proving legitimate holdings should be on the account holders. Swiss Banks should be asked to remit the monies into the Indian treasury. Holding benami accounts is a cognizable offence. This was an Act intended to prohibit benami transactions and to establish the right of the State to recover property held benami.
Under 5 of the Act, Property held benami liable to acquisition-
(1) All properties held benami shall be subject to acquisition by such authority, in such manner and after following such procedure, as may be prescribed.
(2) For the removal of doubts, it is hereby declared that no amount be payable for the acquisition of any property under sub-section(1)

2. The dismal trend of negative growth rate in agriculture should be reversed.

Deposits in Banks located in the territory of Switzerland by nationals of following countries:

India$1456 billion
Russia$470 billion
UK $390 billion
Ukraine$100 billion
China$96 billion

India as Hindu nation to protect indigenous culture!

Missionaries are Colonialists

Gregory F. Fegel

This was originally posted on Pravda: http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/106593-0/

Christian missionaries make no secret of the fact that they use medical services, education, and employment opportunities to lure impoverished indigenous populations throughout the world into conversion to Christianity.

According to the popular and scholarly history of Christianity, the early Christian Church found its greatest appeal and attracted its greatest number of converts from the poor people of the Roman Empire. The early Christian churches raised money though a tithe, or ten per cent income tax, levied on their members, and the early Christian Church is said to have had a strong "sense of community", which implies that it had a well-organized social, financial, and political network among its membership.

Using your wealth to purchase other people's loyalty is a game as old as humanity itself. Rich men use their wealth to attract women, unscrupulous employers use material incentives and disincentives to manipulate their workers, and wealthy countries like the USA use their national wealth to keep their citizens loyal to the cause of aggressive and genocidal Imperialism. But historical longevity and common practice don't make the manipulation or exploitation morally or ethically right.

Organized religions are inherently POLITICAL organizations. There is a fundamental difference between the financial enterprise and political machinations of an organized religion versus a mass of independent unaffiliated believers, philosophers, and mystics who do not support any organized religion.

Christianity and Islam are known as proselytizing religions because they make an organized and systemic effort to gain converts, and they often provide services, products, or employment to attract converts. Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism show far less zeal about gaining converts, which is why you almost never hear about Jewish, Hindu, or Buddhist missionaries.

Modern medical and nursing schools usually teach their students the moral principle that the provision of medical services should never be used as a means to proselytize or promote a religion, but that does not deter many Christian health care providers from doing exactly that. Most of the medical and charitable organizations based in Christian countries are fronts for Christian proselytizing activities.

One of the largest international medical relief organizations based in the USA, Northwest Medical Teams, states in their recruitment brochure that their chief "mission" is to "spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ", that their medical relief services are subordinate to their stated goal of proselytizing Christianity, and that their medical relief work is merely an "aegis", or facade, for spreading Christianity.

The religious and cultural Imperialism performed by missionaries nearly always goes hand-in-hand with political and economic Imperialism. Christian missionaries often work in partnership with the CIA, with the US government, and with wealthy corporations to subvert the religion, the culture, the economy, and the politics of vulnerable indigenous populations. The CIA often uses planes owned by Christian missionary organizations and flown by Christian missionary pilots to smuggle drugs, arms, and prisoners.

During the CIA's illegal Iran/Contra scam of the 1980s, Christian missionary pilots and planes smuggled drugs into the USA and arms into Central America and Iran. Now the CIA is using Christian missionary planes to smuggle heroin from Afghanistan, cocaine from Latin America, and for "rendition" flights of "Terrorist" prisoners to secret prisons that practice torture and commit extra-judicial executions.

The USA's Faith Based Initiative law provides Christian missionary organizations with taxpayer funds that are used to proselytize Christianity to indigenous populations throughout the world. Christian missionaries are the leading edge of a religious, cultural, economic, and political aggression supported by the US government.

When missionaries bring outside wealth to an impoverished Third World country and use that wealth to provide services that are meant to attract converts, they are interfering with the local social and economic structure as well as the local cultural traditions. Indigenous people who take advantage of the privileges provided by the missionaries and convert to Christianity partake in a social organization that uses foreign wealth as a tool to eliminate the indigenous culture and replace it with Christianity.

A small and reclusive population of a few hundred people with a primitive Stone Age culture lives on North Sentinel Island, in the Andaman chain, which is administered by the government of India. To protect the culture of the inhabitants of North Sentinel Island, the Indian government has wisely banned anyone from visiting the island. I approve of the Indian government's policy of protecting the unique culture of the North Sentinels from outside influence. If anyone on North Sentinel Island should ever desire to leave, they could build a boat and do so.

Among a total of 195 nations in the world today, fifty-seven of those nations have a legally established, official State Religion. There are fourteen nations that claim Christianity as their State Religion, twenty-six nations that claim Islam as their State Religion, six nations that claim Buddhism as their State Religion, and the Jewish State of Israel. The Jewish State of Israel discriminates against its non-Jewish citizens and within its borders Israel officially prohibits the proselytizing of any religion other than Judaism. Many people believe that Israel has a right to exist in this manner as a Jewish State.

Many Islamic countries strive to protect the cultural identity of their citizens by enforcing a ban on preaching any religion but Islam. Considering the aggressive, insidious, and highly political nature of Christian missionary programs, the banning of non-Moslem religious preaching by Moslem governments makes sense.

Currently there is no officially Hindu State anywhere in the world, but perhaps India should become a Hindu State in order to protect its indigenous religion and culture from the predatory missionaries and State-sponsored cultural Imperialism that are coming from both Christian and Moslem countries. If the Jews have the right to establish and maintain Israel as a Jewish State, then the Hindus certainly have a right to establish and maintain India as a Hindu State.

When Western leaders talk about a "Clash of Civilizations", what they really mean is Judeo-Christianity and corporate Capitalism versus all non-Christians and non-Capitalists. Christian missionaries are essentially colonialists working for Christian cultural Imperialism.

When the Hindus of India rise up in riot and drive out the Christian missionaries and the Christian "cash converts", they are doing what the Iraqi, Afghani, and Palestinian Freedom Fighters are doing. They are protecting themselves and their indigenous culture from wealthy and unscrupulous invaders who have no respect for them or their culture. I wish the Hindu nationalists well in their efforts to defend and maintain the independence and survival of their indigenous culture and religion against the onslaught of predatory and disrespectful foreigners whose goal is to replace indigenous traditional cultures with a global Christian empire.

If Christian missionaries want to come to India and try to make converts to Christianity, let them come with empty pockets and compete on a level playing field. And if most of the locals don't want the missionaries interfering with their traditional way of life, they have the right to make the missionaries and their converts leave.

"I am not fond of LTTE" - Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi is reported to have said,

"The LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) is a terrorist group. I am not particularly fond of LTTE myself. It killed my father."

http://www.hindustantimes.com/StoryPage/StoryPage.aspx?sectionName=HomePage&id=055626b9-02d4-4d02-85a4-84c24b447063&Headline=I+am+not+fond+of+LTTE%2c+it+killed+my+father%3a+Rahul

These wonderful words of wisdom were spoken by Rahul Gandhi, even as he was making his mind known on Varun’s speech in Philibit that he (Rahul) does not carry hate and anger.

He means it, it seems.

He has no anger or hatred against anyone, except the ones who killed his father.

Does he mean to say that if it was not for his father, he would not have lost his fondness for LTTE?

If it was someone else who was killed, he would not have lost his fondness for the terrorist organization that killed?

Even you and me and millions of fellow citizens were outraged at the killing of Rajiv Gandhi but we have no filial connection with him. We were angry then and angry now because we can not forget what the LTTE did. There is no personal connection with Rajiv Gandhi to make us think so. But we are angry because someone among us is harmed.

This is righteous anger – the anger that can generate better protective shield for any of us facing the chance of getting harmed –the anger that can keep off the prospective offender from attacking any one of us.

This anger is needed to show our collective assertiveness against any attack on any of us or on our principles or beliefs.

We get this anger every time we hear some outrage committed on some of us somewhere in India –be it in Mumbai or in Kashmir or in Philibit or even in the Sethu!

It is a pity that Rahul can not experience such an anger – the anger that Varun felt at the outrage committed on the existing ground realities at Philibit.

It seems Rahul can never feel or think from other’s shoes nor get shaken by assault of any form unless or until it is done to his near and dear ones.

But it angers us all the more to think that his and his party's near and dear parivar contains only the minority communities!

Does Priyanka know what Gita says?

What Bhagawad Gita says:-

“Not by the vedas, nor by austerities, nor by gifts, nor by sacrifice, can I be seen in such a form as You have seen me.” (chapter 11-53)

“For those who dedicate all actions to Me, hold Me as their Supreme Goal, intent on me and worship Me meditating on Me with exclusive devotion,

Of those whose minds are thus focused on Me, I become soon their savior from the ocean of mortal life” (chapter 12- 6&7)

In a situation where doing this devotion to Him and living in the way as prescribed by Him are hampered and criticized as being communal, the Lord ordains one to be ‘His instrument’ and fight the war to restore righteous instincts.

“But if you do not fight this righteous war, you will be turning away from your duty and honored position and will be incurring sin.” (chapter 2-33)

“Better is one’s duty, though ill-done, than the duty of another, though well-performed. When one does the duty ordained by his own nature, he incurs no stain”. (chapter 18-47)

“If in your self-conceit, you think, “I will not fight’, your resolve is in vain. Nature will compel you.” (Chapter 18-59)

“O Arjuna, bound by your own duty born out of your own inner disposition and having no control over your own will, you will be compelled to do that very thing which you now desire not to do through delusion” (chapter 18-60)

**

Delusion :- keeping mum and not doing anything in spite of all attacks on Hindu identity

Righteous war :- taking on the forces that attack and uproot Hindu ideals.

Press release in support of Varun Gandhi (23 March 2009)

The Indian American Intellectuals Forum expresses regret at the no-holds-barred campaign of vilification and calumny unleashed by the entire 'pseudo-secular' establishment of India on Varun Gandhi, the BJP candidate for Parliament from Pilibhit in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

Varun Gandhi is reported to have said in an election speech that " if someone thinks that Hindus are weak and leaderless.. . if anyone raises a finger towards Hindus - then I swear… I will cut that hand."

This rare display of utter fearlessness and exemplary courage from the young BJP leader has echoed the simmering feelings of millions of Hindus all over the globe. For coming out openly to speak the truth, the Indian American Intellectuals Forum congratulates him.

Judging from the unchecked spate of terrorist attacks on large metropolis like Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Varanasi, etc., in which the Hindus incurred the maximum financial damage and the huge loss of lives, there is a widespread feeling that the Hindu Nation is in a 'State of Siege' in its own country.

Despite the bitter condemnation from the English language press, Varun Gandhi is being lauded all over India in the vernacular media. We suspect the slanderous crusade against Varun Gandhi is backed by certain anti-national elements for the sole purpose of demoralizing and demonizing this young would-be MP.

It is worth noting that at the moment Hindu Nation is neck deep into an unprecedented crisis because of the double whammy of Islamic jihad on one hand and the pseudo-secular Congress Party politicians protecting even the high profile terrorists like Mohammad Afzal Guru, the convicted mastermind of Parliament attack, on the other.

It is not hard to look around and see that most Hindus have already been religiously cleansed from the neighboring Pakistan; they have been either converted to Islam or simply killed. The same thing is fast happening to the Bangladesh and Kashmir Valley.

In many other parts of India, Hindus are under attack from the Jihadists in collusion with the Maoists, Naxalites or other Marxist terrorists. (The recent murders of Swami Lakshmananda Sarasvati in Orissa and other prominent Hindus in Kerala are the gruesome reminders of this deadly combination) .

We have to understand that Varun Gandhi's Pilibhit Parliamentary constituency is up North near the Nepal border. Thousands of Muslim mosques and madrasas have sprung up in the area. An extreme fear psychosis is created by Jihadi forces in the region. Several young Hindu girls have been molested and raped in recent times. Cow slaughter is going on recklessly on the streets in open.

In the conditions, Hindus find themselves very unsafe.

They feel persecuted.

The local Hindu population is in a state of shock and bewilderment.

All the above things are, obviously, happening under the very nose of young and vigilant Varun Gandhi. Instead of attacking him thoughtlessly, his speech describing the Muslim terrorist activities in the area should, on the contrary, be analyzed from the national security point of view.

We do not see anything wrong with Varun Gandhi's statement. Actually, his assertion that " I am a proud Hindu, I am a Gandhi and I am an Indian " should come as a breath of fresh air for all Indians in the suffocating pseudo-secular politics of India.

We look upon Varun Gandhi as valiantly fighting like Veer Abhimanyu, the brave son of legendary Arjun of Mahabharatha. Our modern Abhimanyu has been encircled in a chakraviyuh (the deadly maze) and is being viciously attacked by Kauravas. The role of modern Kauravas is played by an unholy combination of the pseudo-secular politicians of country led by Congress party and other anti-national elements directly or indirectly shielded by this Grand Old Party of India.

As such, we appeal to the Non-Resident Indians in general, and the Indian public in particular, to solidly stand behind Varun Gandhi, the gutsy young leader of the modern India.

It is essential that patriotic Indians provide this dynamic Gandhi all necessary support by sending him congratulatory emails at gandhim@sansad. nic.in.

COMMENT by Capt. Balakrishnan, IN (Retd.):

The vicious onslaught from the ' secular ' Indian English media notwitstanding, here is what the Task Forces on ' Internal Security ' and ' Border Management ' ( headed by Shri N.N. Vohra, the current Governor of J&K, and Shri Madhav Godbole, respectively.), wrote about the state of affairs on the Indo-Nepal Border ( hopefully our 'secular' English media will understand the geographic location of Philibit!!). I have extracted these from the book -

" Will the Iron Fence save the Tree Hollowed by Termites" - Arun Shourie - Rupa & Co - pp 421 & 422)

" On the Indo-Nepal border, MADRASSAS and MOSQUES have sprung up on both sides of the Terai region , accompanied by a FOUR FOLD INCREASE IN THE POPULATION OF THE MINORITY COMMUNITY IN THE REGION. There are 343 MOSQUES, 300 MADRASSAS and 17 MOSQUES - CUM - MADRASSAS within 10 kms of the border on the Indian side. On the NEPAL side there are 282 MOSQUES, 181 MADRASSAS and 18 MOSQUES - CUM - MADRASSAS. These mosques and madrassas receive HUGE FUNDS FROM MUSLIM COUNTRIES like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Managers of various madrassas and ulema maintain close links with Embassy officials of those countries located in Kathmandu. Financial assistance is also channelised through the Islamic Development Bank (Jeddah), Habib Bank (Pakistan) and also through some Indian Muslims living in Gulf countries. Pakistan's Habib Bank, after becoming a partner in Nepal's Himalayan Bank, has expanded its network in the border areas including Biratnagar and Krishna Nagar. It is suspected that foreign currency is converted to Indian currency in Nepal and then brought into India clandestinely."

Again. " MADRASSAS and MOSQUES on the Indo-Nepal border are frequently visited by prominent Muslim leaders, Tableegh Jamaats and pro-Pak Nepali leaders. Officials of the Pak embassy have come to be noticed visiting the Terai region of Nepal to strengthen Islamic institutions and to disburse funds for them. Pro-Pak elements in Nepal also help IN DEMOGRAPHIC SUBVERSION OF THE TERAI BELT."

Further. " The Northern border with Nepal, being open, porous and with extensive cross-country links, has, with the strengthening of the Western land borders and following entrenchment of Dubai based smugglers in Nepal, now has become volatile for smuggling of gold and general commodities, and also ARMS and EXPLOSIVES, and, INFILTRATION BY HOSTILE ELEMENTS - - -. As regards narcotics, Nepal has long been a major producer of cannabis. Herbal cannabis in particular and also some quantities of cannabis resin have been frequently brought through and siezed near the India - Nepal border. Heroin transited from Pakistan or processed in India, and some other Indian pharmaceutical narcotics and psychotropic substances, have also been siezed in Nepal from time to time."

"JAI HO"!! NEHRUVIAN SECULARISM.

The 'secular' Indian English media are the modern day "JAICHANDS".

Priyanka Vadera becomes wise about Bhagavadgita!

Varun issue backfires on EC

Kumar Uttam | New Delhi (Pioneer, Tuesday, March 24, 2009)

· To remain BJP candidate from Pilibhit

· EC selective, has no jurisdiction: BJP

Outraged by the Election Commission's suggestion to drop Varun Gandhi as candidate from Pilibhit, the BJP insisted on Monday that it would field him, while the politician son of late Sanjay Gandhi took pot shots at the Election Commission, saying his 'real court of appeal' lay with the people.

Varun expressed "deep disappointment" over the unseemly haste in which the EC passed an opinion without giving him a fair opportunity to establish his innocence. He pointed out that there were several candidates in the fray who had been convicted of or were being tried for crimes that carry far larger sentences than the one for which he has been accused of.

"Despite the same, at least till now, I find that the EC's eagerness to exercise its "recommendatory jurisdiction" begins and ends with my case alone. This itself coupled with the haste with which the EC has acted leaves one to believe that the action has been pressurised by political considerations," Varun said in a communication to the EC.

Also, in making adverse remarks and recommendations to the BJP and all other parties, Varun asserted, the EC has acted beyond its jurisdiction and has surpassed its powers, including under Article 324 of the Constitution of India.

The Election Commission's judgement also left the BJP fuming. "How the EC can tell us who should or should not be our candidates. It is not vested with any power to pass such orders," BJP general secretary Arun Jaitley pointed out.

The senior BJP leader said the EC was asking the party for something (debarring Varun from contesting the election) that even it was not in a position to ensure till someone was convicted for more than two years.

The party is now preparing for a high pitched campaign in Varun's constituency. "This suggestion of the Election Commission (to drop Varun) is pregnant with serious implications for the Indian democracy. In fact, this unprecedented move on the part of the Election Commission seeks to redefine the contours of democratic practices and traditions in operation since independence," party spokesman Balbir Punj said while announcing the BJP's decision to field him in the forthcoming elections.

The BJP reiterated that despite the serious nature of the speech by the chairman of the Congress Party Minority Cell Imran Kidwai, the EC has yet to take any action on the complaint filed by the BJP in this regard.

Moreover, it said, the presence of senior office-bearers of the Congress party, including the official candidate of Chandigarh, at the venue has also not spurred the EC to act till date and even issue a notice in this regard.

Gita ki kasam

PNS | Lucknow: Priyanka Vadera Gandhi termed Varun remarks "unfortunate" and claimed it was against the ideology of the Gandhi family. She claimed to be deeply 'hurt' as her family had always fought to maintain secular fabric. "The issue has saddened my family and Varun's remarks are not acceptable either by the country or my family," she said.

Priyanka was also critical of Varun's reference to Gita in his speech. "First Varun should read Gita… properly before making such comments," she said.

Knowing your previous birth – astrologically.

-->

The Life Research Academy started in Hyderabad by one Dr Newton and his wife Dr Lakshmi conducts workshops to help people understand the goals of present life by knowing about the past lives! This is based on the age-old theory of Karma and its continuing cycle keeping the souls in bondage. Some excerpts from a workshop conducted by this foundation as reported in the today's Chennai edition of Deccan Chronicle are produced below.

The prospect of knowing one's past birth fascinates many people. The Maharishis were capable of 'seeing' the past and future of people just be looking at them. 'Thrikaala gyanam' due to their spiritual strength helped them 'see' like this. Another factor that helps in 'seeing' particularly the past is by analyzing the way one behaves in the present life or by what one experiences in the present life.

The 'vasanas' of the past births continue in the present birth.
If there is some particular tendency seen specifically in a person, it can be said that he has carried it from the previous birth.

Similarly the experiences (both good and bad) of the previous births give their respective results in the present birth. It is possible to relate an experience that 'sucks' one in the present birth to a causative happening in the previous birth. Such experiences can be logically explained. One can understand such connections very well from naadi readings of many people.

This link http://www.starteller.com/past-birth-karmas.html provides some such correlations between births that help one identify the kind of birth that one has had previously. The table given below is formed after analyzing many naadi readings. This can be seen in the above link.

Past Life
Present Life
Forced his wife against her will to sleep with a rich man The wife became the concubine of a rich man and later on came back to this man and again left him. The subject is without relationship.
The native married a number of women and killed them one by one in order to get married to younger women. Now jobless and dependant on women for his survival.
The native impregnated a virgin, abandoned her and went abroad. The virgin committed suicide. Now he is childless and the women he marries die prematurely.
The girl deliberately messed up the marriages of young girls. She has innumerable relationship problems.
The native ignored the parents and mistreated them. He undergoes problems in his old age.
The native blinded the eye of a Calf. Her eye surgery failed due to the mistake of the surgeon and she lost her vision.
He stole temple properties. His house remains under constant attacks of burglars.
The native never paid wages to her servants. Now jobless and is being exploited by others.
The native refused to marry the woman after engagement. The woman came back in this life and killed him.
The native was a jeweller. Someone came to sell his jewels. The jeweller offered a low price and when the seller said that he didn't want to sell them, the jeweller claimed that those jewels were his. The poor seller suffered a heart attack and died. The native suffers heart problems and his family life is not harmonious, problems arising on account of children or wife.

Astrologically speaking, a person's natal chart does contain indicators for knowing the past and the future birth as well. In this post, I am writing on astrological factors to identify the past birth.

Varahamihira has given just one verse each for identifying past and future birth. But he has indicated that this issue has been dealt at length by seers of yore and one must know what they have said. On his part he gives only one verse on how to identify the previous birth.

Verse 25014, Brihat jathaka :-
"Guru, Chandra and Sukra, Ravi and Kuja, and Sani and Budha bring people from Devaloka, Pitruloka, Tiryagloka and Narakaloka respectively. According to the position of the lord of the Drekkana occupied by the most powerful of the sun or the moon, we have to predict the high, middle or low state of the man in his previous birth."

Based on Bhattaothpala's commentary for this verse, we have to first see the sun and moon in the rasi chart (D-1). We have to see which of these two is powerful.

Choose the powerful one among the sun or the moon and see its position in the D-3 (drekkana) chart. The lord of that house holds the key for poorva janma!

If such a lord in D-3 is Jupiter, predict that the person was in devaloka before being born on earth.

If such a lord in D-3 is Moon or venus, predict that the person was in Pitruloka, before being born on earth

If such a lord in D-3 is Sun or Mars, predict that the person was in Tiryagloka before being born on earth.

If such a lord in D-3 is Mercury or Saturn, predict that the person was in Narakaloka before being born on earth.

If such a lord is exalted or in benefic positions,
know that the person has enjoyed high status in that loka.

If debilitated or in malefic combinations, know that he had a degraded life there.

Now about the lokas:-

Devaloka is an exalted plane of existence peopled with souls in higher order of awareness and enlightenment.

Pitruloka is a plane where departed ones live before taking another birth. This plane is also higher than our plane of existence on earth.

Tiryagloka is a plane of inferior order where souls with evil karma have to reside.

Narakaloka is a plane of much inferior order, where souls having excessive evil karma in their backlog have to spend their time.

Another text on how to predict the previous birth is Phaladeepika by Manthreshwara.

In the 14th chapter there comes information on astrological pointers to know previous birth.
According Phaladeepika, the 9th house holds the key.

If the 9th lord in natal chart is exalted, the previous birth was in a high society of good people.

If the 9th lord in natal chart is in debility or in enemy's sign, the previous birth was in a different country.

If the 9th lord in natal chart is in his own house or in a friend's house, the previous birth was in the same country to which the person belongs. (Manthreshwara meant Bharatha varsha).

In such a case, if the 9th lord happens to be Jupiter, the person was born in Aryavartha – in the area between Himalayas and Vindhyas.

In such a case, if the 9th lord happens to be Venus or Moon, the person was born near Punya nadhis or sacred rivers such as Kaveri.

In such a case, if the 9th lord happens to be Mercury, the person was born near Kshethras of Gods like Vishnu or Shiva. (places such as Srirangam or Chidambaram).

In such a case, if the 9th lord happens to be Saturn, the person was born in Mleccha desa – outside Bharatha varsha.

In such a case, if the 9th lord happens to be Sun, the person was born in a place of forests and / or mountains.

In such a case, if the 9th lord happens to be Mars, the person was born in abandoned places or places where living was difficult.

Now about the kind of birth – whether as plant life or animal life:-

(The souls are born in four forms according to astrology and Hindu Thought – as devas, humans, animals and plant life.)

If the 9th lord is placed in Prishtodhya rasi that happens to be fixed sign, the previous birth was that of some vegetation.

If the 9th lord is placed in Seershodhaya rasi that happens to be movable sign, the previous birth was that of some living being, either animal or man.

If the 9th lord is placed in the signs of exaltation or own house or friend's house of the lagna lord, the previous birth was that of a human being.

If the 9th lord is placed in neutral sign of the lagna lord, the previous birth was that of an animal.

If the 9th lord is placed in an enemy sign of the lagna lord, the previous birth was that of a bird.

In this way, the clues are given for finding out what we were in previous birth.

"A recent workshop helped participants solve present day problems by journeying into the past 'I DISCOVERED THAT I WAS A FAMOUS POET IN ONE OF MY EARLI- ER BIRTHS AND I STARTED WRITING.'"

My five -year -old daughter used to hang her dolls by their neck. When we sought an explanation to her peculiar behaviour, it was revealed she was humiliated and hung in front of the public in her past life," said a worried mother during the interaction session of Dr. Newton Kondaveti's past life regression and spiritual science workshop.

The workshop was scientifically moulded to understand the participant's past life through special sessions and analyse the purpose of their present incarnation on earth.

The session also aimed at removing the turbulent emotional problems, health issues and phobias that were affecting a person from her or his past.

Says V. Jayaraman, a financial software consultant, "I have been doing past life studies through books and various workshops throughout my life. The aspect of hypnosis fascinated me enough to dig deeper into its mystic aspect.

Dr. Newton's workshop is quite different though. He is more into the meditative feature of past life regression." Taking about his past life he says, "I was a cruel zamindar in one of my previous births who inflicted atrocities on people, for which I am now suffering with health issues." Voicing similar thoughts was writer Nandhini Murthy "To me, it is a part of the self discovery process. From a very young age, I loved poetry bu never attempted to pursue this passion.

However, when I discovered that I was a famous poet in one of earlier births so I started writing poems. Reflecting my mindset the poems are on the genre of mysticism." Dwelling a little about his own past life health issues that carried over into the present Dr. Newton explains, "I always had some kind of ailment in my abdominal region. Past life regression explained to me the reason. In my earlier birth as a Tibetan at the age of sixty, I was pronounced dead when alive and thrown to the vultures, as was the custom in Tibet.

The painful experience I had undergone being eaten alive was the cause of my abdominal miseries, the problem was solved after I discovered my past." The workshop also dealt on topics like karma, self-healing, emotion, and past-life talents carried over to the present birth among others. Says Dr.

Newton who with his wife Dr. Lakshmi founded the Life Research Academy in Hyderabad, "The purpose of such past life regression workshops are to make people understand the human body that is like a dress we wear and cast off. Just like one needs to remove weeds in the garden, one should know about the past to understand the future better."

Your past-birth karmas and Nadi Astrology

By Sri Siva

Karma is the metaphysical law of causality. It is comparable to the physical law of Newton: every action causes an equal and opposite reaction. You do something in this lifetime and it comes back to you in the next lifetime.

One's natal chart is clearly the representation of one's karma. For two decades I have been researching nadi astrology. The nadi astrological leaves are written by Siddhas and I have consulted almost all of them. The Siddhas use their intuitive ability to look into the past and future of the individuals. My case-study involves 500 people. My finding is that the future prediction is not 100% correct in all cases. It varies from person to person and the average accuracy ranges from 30 to 55 %. Why are not the Siddhas unable to predict 100%? I have put this question to the Siddhas themselves. The answers came and are interesting. They said that the clients who came with a sincere frame of mind got better results than the clients who were cynical. This is true in daily life. You become as you think.

If nadi leaves are not going to give the exact prediction is it any good to still consult them? The answer is ' yes'. The nadi is a great source of education. It links your past life with the present life and teaches you methods to change your life. For instance, if one had raped many women in his past life, he continues this habit in this lifetime also. Similarly if one had been a saint in previous life times, he comes back as a saint again. Once you identify what you had done in the past, then you can correct it in this lifetime. Again, from my own research I have found that people are unable to change their life-habits, even though I tell them in no uncertain terms what they need to do. For educational purposes I want to give a list of past karmas that produce situations in this lifetime, see table.

Past Life
Present Life
Forced his wife against her will to sleep with a rich man The wife became the concubine of a rich man and later on came back to this man and again left him.

Remedies in Nadi Astrology

Nadi astrology offers remedies for all kinds of bad karma. This involves visits to certain temples, performing rituals like donation to saints, virgins, married women and others. The remedies are based on the karma that each one has done in their past lives. Another important remedy is worshipping the yantra of the planet properly energized. It is better to worship the yantra of the devata of the planet rather than the planet itself. Also, it is important to pay a visit to Suryanarkoil regardless of what your karma is. The unique nature of Suryanarkoil is that the planets here are devoid of their weapons. Mantras used in the temple also do not refer to their malefic qualities. According to tradition, Lord Siva commissioned planets to be benign at Suryanarkoil. (A detailed list of Navagraha (nine planets) temples mentioned in the Nadi and when and how to get there can be obtained from my Ashram in India.

BJP to declare Ramsetu 'heritage monument' if it comes to power

BJP to declare Ramsetu 'heritage monument' if it comes to power

22 Mar 2009, 1516 hrs IST, PTI

CHENNAI: BJP will declare the Ramasetu "a heritage monument," if the alliance led by the party would be voted to power at the Centre in the Lok Sabha polls, party's state unit said on Sunday.

BJP state unit president L Ganesan, in a statement here, alleged that if the alliance comprising the DMK came to power, "it will try to demolish" the Ramsetu.

The bridge, believed to have been constructed by Lord Ram, became a centre of controversy after Hindus opposed its demolition for the construction of Rs 2,400 crore Sethusamudram Shipping Canal Project (SSCP).

While crediting former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee for issuing in-principle approval and taking up study for the implementation of the project, Ganesan claimed the plan was "altered" after the UPA Government took over.

"The DMK has assumed the matter as its policy failure and is adamant (in the implementation)," he said at an apparent reference to DMK president M Karunanidhi asking his party workers to inform people on the "roadblocks" created for the project.

"If another alliance comprising of the DMK comes to power, it will try to demolish the Ramsetu. But if a BJP-led combine is voted to power, the bridge will be declared a heritage monument of historical importance," he said.

Hamsa and Hamsadhwani.

The following is what I gathered from two musician-friends on 'Hamsa' connection to Hamsadhwani raga.

Hamsam looks clean and is therefore a symbol of purity
It is white in colour and therefore a symbol of sudhdha satvam
That is why those steeped in suddha sattwa are known as Parama hamsas

-eg -Raamakrishna paramahamsa.

Kavi Sadasiva brahmendram placed a 'parama hamsa mudhirai' in his krithis (15 or so)

About the dhwani - the sound or the talk of swan:-

Even though the sound of the swan is unpleasant (karNa katooram) at times,
it has emanated from sudhdham – the clean or pure looking swan.

The hearer has to prepare himself to be ready to receive that and make himself assimilate the pure and sathwa sounds / talks given by a hamsa or Parama hamsa.

Hamsadhwani is a little harsh or unsmooth to begin with (like the sound of the swan).

This can be understood by comparing it with Mohana raga.

These two ragas differ only in one swara.

The 'Ni' of Hamsadhwani is replaced by 'Da' in Mohana.

With this one change, Mohana gives more 'sukha' right from the first swara than Hamsadhwani.

In contrast, Hamsadhwani starts with something like that of a warming-up exercise so that the mind is well prepared to receive the finest notes of the raga later, that gives the finest enjoyment subsequently.

This happens how it is experienced in hearing the sounds of swan.

The sound of swan is unpleasant, to say the least. But when one looks at the swan that gives out the sound, its appearance is so overwhelming that one starts watching it while hearing it. The experience of watching the soft and pure looking swan transforms the senses in such a way that one starts to enjoy the sound it makes! Whatever unpleasantness or stress that one may be having, is gone when one watches the swan 'singing'.

This rationale is applied in Ganapathy songs sung in Hamsadhwani raga.

Lord Ganapathy is the destroyer of obstacles.
The obstacles or 'vignams' coming in the way of singer, say,
the saareera vignams such as sudden trouble in voice, trouble with sruthi and in present day situation. trouble with mike and sound systems would be gone, similar to how the unpleasant notes of Hamsa are forgotten while seeing the Hamsa itself.

That is why most singers opt for Hamsadhwani raga to praise Lord Ganesha in the beginning of a concert.

This raga was first given by Ramaswami Dheekshithar, father of Mutthuswami Dheekshithar (one of the tri-moorthis of Carnatic music).

The famous song on "Vathaapi Ganapathy" was given by Mutthuswami Dheekshithar in Hamsadhwani!

Acupressure in Gayatri japa!

The scientific Sanatana dharma has many practices some of which can be proven by today's researchers. The rationale of 'ThoppukkaraNam' is known from the Super Brain yoga.

http://jayasreesaranathan.blogspot.com/2009/03/origin-of-word-thoppukkaranam.html)

Similarly some research can be done on the counting of the japa-mala (rosary) on whether the constant movement of the beads in a particular fashion has an effect on activating some nerve centres, as happens in acupressure. Usually, the thumb and the middle finger are used in rotating the beads. The knowledge of acupressure centers that we know as of now, is that the top phalange of the thumb is connected to brain and that of the middle finger to the nose. Some people do the japa by sliding the mala on the base of fingers. The base of the fingers has relevance to the eye and ear centres. It must be researched how these centres are activated when japa is done using the japa-mala. Of all the japas, Gayatri mantra japa is considered as supreme. No japa-mala is used in gayatri japa. Counting the mantra is done by the thumb moving over the parts of other fingers. This method has all the trappings acu-pressure in activating some important centres of the body and brain. In Gayatri japa, the thumb presses certain phalanges of the other fingers in a particular sequence. This is also one area of research to ascertain whether any activation of internal power centres is happening by doing like this. The gayatri mantra is aimed at Enlightenment. Perhaps the counting activity is an additional feature to buttress the effect of mental awakening. Another activity that seems to have some curious connection to acupressure is the way achamanam is done. The 12 names of Bhagawan are recited by touching different body parts in different ways. The thumb and the fingers and the divisions of the fingers come into contact in a specific fashion while touching the various body parts. For example it is done like this for 'Keshava'. The index finger touches the second phalange of the thumb while the thumb touches the cheek bone. Other achamanam pics can be seen here:-

Hope to hear some research on these.
