Day 10 of Garbottam 2016-17 (Rainfall in 1st week of November 2017)

Previous articles:-

Day 10 of Garbottam started around midnight of 6th January 2017 and ended around midnight of 7th January 2017.

The impact would be felt between 23rd October 2017 and 6th November 2017.

Observation:

(1) Wind:- Cool and pleasant breeze whenever the sun was hidden.

(2) Rain:- Nil.

(3) Lightening:- Nil.

(4) Thunder:- Nil.

(5) Clouds:-  From 10-30 AM onwards, clouds started growing in the east and crossing the Sun. But until 12 Noon the frequency and the duration of crossing the Sun was very less. But post noon till 3 PM, the sky looked almost overcast and the clouds seemed to follow the Sun and kept hiding the Sun for long duration. The clouds were mostly dull white in colour and while crossing the Sun looked dark.

For the first time the clouds were hiding the Sun for a few minutes around 10-40 AM.
From 12 PM onwards, huge bunches of clouds kept surging one after the other and crossed the Sun.

At 12-10 PM

At 2-20 PM

3-some features:-

(1) Terrestrial :- Behaviour of birds normal and satisfactory.

(2) Atmospheric :-  (1) Cool breeze very often. (2) Good cloud formation from 12 PM  onwards.

(3) Not many aquatic shaped clouds were seen. The clouds looked like a blanket spread over large area. Those with some shape had huge bulge like the tortoise or the back of a duck.

(3) Planetary:- (1) Stars and planets appeared dim.  (2) All planets were in Southern declination. (3) Evening Sun and twilight sky was red in colour.

Impact dates between 23rd October 2017 and 6th November 2017.

Rainfall support features:-

There is no specific rainfall support yoga during this fortnight. This is a worrisome feature as the Garbottam of the day was good.
On 31st October Mercury comes out of combustion. Usually when this happens there will be rains at that time.
On November 2nd – 3rd Venus enters Libra to join Jupiter. Conjunction of Venus and Jupiter is a good sign of rainfall.

Since the above transits come close in heel, this could trigger rainfall as the good Garbottam of today could give rains from 30 – 31st October onwards for a week.

Rainfall spoiling features:-

(1) Mercury – Venus closeness is not happening during this fortnight.  The gap between them increases to more than 30 degrees during this fortnight.

(2) This fortnight coincides with Sun’s transit in Swati. This is Vayu nadi in Sapta Nadi Chakra. This transit could give more windiness than rains or the rains would be accompanied with winds or the rain clouds would be shattered by winds. Mercury in forward position of Venus and Sun also adds to this probability.

(3) Saturn is the lead of all the other planets during this fortnight. This is a rainfall spoiler.

Inference:-  For the 2nd  time in the present Garbottam period, good cloud formation and movement of clouds across the sun to the accompaniment of cool breeze was felt for a longer duration.  Compared to yester day’s Garbottam, the duration was more and strong though cloud shapes were not helpful. After initial slackening, the Garbottam picked up after 12 noon and lasted for 3 hours. This must give rainfall in the middle of the fortnight.

With the ending of combustion of Mercury on 31st October 2017, rainfall must pick up as per this Garbottam. Though Mercury- Venus closeness is not there, Venus – Jupiter closeness starts from 2nd – 3rd November. This is going to last till 26th November 2017. Good Garbottam of today and this conjunction on the impact time must give rainfall to Chennai in the 1st week of November.

The ending date of combustion of Mercury (31st Oct) and entry date of Venus into Libra (2nd – 3rd Nov) must trigger some meteorological event in the Bay.

However this must be further reinforced by daily Garbottam. The corresponding Daily Garbottam dates for this period start on 22nd May 2017. On 22nd May and thereafter Sun joins the malefic Mars. This feature on the Garbottam date must result in cyclone formation on the impact day.

By this it is said that starting from 31st October, there exists trigger factors in the form of Mercury coming out of combustion and Venus entering Libra to join Jupiter; there also exists supportive Margazhi Garbottam (of today); there also exists conjunction of Sun with a malefic on the 195th day prior to that (daily Garbottam). If it rains on the impact day, then it is a learning / and proof  that spoiling planetary combinations can be over-run by a combination of features such as the ones mentioned above.

As per 195th day –impact theory (Daily Garbottam), today’s Garbottam must give rainfall on 18th July 2017 which is already indicated on the 2nd day of Margazhi Garbottam 2016-17.

Day 9 of Garbottam 2016-17 (Rainfall in mid-October)

Previous articles:-

Day 9 of Garbottam started around midnight of 5th January 2017 and ended around midnight of 6th January 2017.

The impact would be felt between 10thOctober 2017 and 23rd October 2017.

Observation:

(1) Wind:- Frequent cool and pleasant breeze
(2) Rain:- Nil.
(3) Lightening:- Nil.
(4) Thunder:- Nil.
(5) Clouds:-  From 9-30 AM onwards, cloud formation was noticed. By 10-30 AM bunches of clouds started crossing the disc of the Sun

At 10-30 AM

Between 10-30 AM and 11-00 AM the Sun was often hidden by passing clouds to the accompaniment of cool breeze from North and east.

But the actual take-off happened after 12 Noon. By 12-45 PM, a huge tortoise looking cloud was crossing the Sun for several minutes.

At 12-45 PM

From then onwards until 3-30 PM, continuous stream of clouds could be seen moving from east and crossing the Sun frequently often for 5 minutes and more.

At 3 -15 PM

3-some features:-

(1) Terrestrial :- Behaviour of birds normal and satisfactory.

(2) Atmospheric :-  (1) Cool breeze very often. (2) Good cloud formation from 10-30 AM onwards.

(3) Many aquatic shaped clouds were seen very often. Many bunches of clouds were seen with tortoise-back, Swan’s neck and duck’s beak.

(3) Planetary:- (1) Stars and planets appeared dim.  (2) All planets were in Southern declination. (3) Evening Sun was bright red in colour.

Impact dates between 10th October and 23rd October 2017.

Rainfall support features:-

There is no specific rainfall support yoga during this fortnight. This is a worrisome feature as the Garbottam of the day was good.

On 13th October, Mercury enters Libra to join Jupiter. This must trigger some rainfall around that date.  During this transit, Mercury continues to be in combustion which is going to last till 31st October. This is the only positive feature to support rainfall during this fortnight.

Rainfall spoiling features:-

(1) Mercury – Venus closeness is not happening during this fortnight.  Though the two planets were together in the same sign along with the Sun at the beginning of the fortnight, the gap between them would be gradually increasing from 23 degrees to 28 degrees during this fortnight. This is not a supportive feature.

(2) Venus continues to be in Uttra Phalguni star in Sapta Nadi Chakra till 17th October. Until then, there is likely to be cloudiness with less rainfall.
(3) Saturn is the lead of all the other planets during this fortnight. This is a rainfall spoiler.

Inference:-  For the first time in the present Garbottam period, good cloud formation and movement of clouds across the sun to the accompaniment of cool breeze was felt for a longer duration.  This corresponds to the middle of the fortnight, probably from 14th to 18th October 2017. This coincides with Mercury’s entry into Libra to join Jupiter.  By 17th Venus comes out of the adverse star in Sapta Nadi Chakra. If the daily Garbottam for this fortnight also supports rainfall, this period would see a good rainfall prospect.

An important feature of today’s Garbottam is that in daily Garbottam assessment (of giving rainfall on the 195th day), this day (6th January 2017) corresponds to both 16th and 17th July, 2017.  The Garbottam of last 2 days also can give rainfall to 14th and 15th of July, 2017 as per 195th day impact.

These days come within the fortnight of 2nd day of Margazhi Garbottam 2016-17. The 2nd day (29th – 30th December 2016) showed good Garbottam features.  Thus we see Garbottam impact on daily assessment too. The 2nd day Garbottam did not have supportive planetary features. If in spite of that it rains on the corresponding fortnight (particularly between 10th and 19th July 2017), we can be sure that it would rain well in the present period (after 14th October 2017) as the planetary spoilers are less in intensity during the fortnight under discussion.

Day 8 of Garbottam 2016-17 (Moderate rainfall)

Previous articles:-

Day 8 of Garbottam started around midnight of 4th January 2017 and ended around midnight of 5th January 2017.

The impact would be felt between 26th September 2017 and 10th October 2017.

Observation:

(1) Wind:- Occasional cool breeze
(2) Rain:- Nil.
(3) Lightening:- Nil.
(4) Thunder:- Nil.
(5) Clouds:-  Whitish clouds spread in the eastern direction by 10-00 AM. After that bunches of clouds started crossing the disc of the Sun often. At 10-30 AM the sun was hidden by clouds for a few minutes which coincided with cool breeze.

Clouds were crossing the Sun around 11-00 AM, 11-30 AM and 12-30 PM. After that the duration of hiding were very less and in fleeting seconds. However the clouds were seen in huge bunches moving in North and East till 2 PM.

At 12-30 PM. The Sun is like a small disc in between the clouds.

3-some features:-

(1) Terrestrial :- Behaviour of birds normal.
(2) Atmospheric :-  (1) Cool breeze when sun was hidden. (2) Good cloud formation from 10-00 AM onwards. (3) Huge tortoise shaped clouds were seen at times.

(3) Planetary:- (1) Stars and planets appeared dim.  (2) All planets were in Southern declination.

Impact dates between 26th September 2017 and 10th October.

Rainfall support features:-

(1) Mercury – Venus closeness is on during this fortnight.  Till 8th October the gap would be reducing between them.  From 8th to 10th October, the gap is stationary at a distance of 23 degrees. From 11th October onwards this gap starts increasing. The fortnight however enjoys the closeness between the 2 planets.

(2) The first week of October has some important planetary features.
They are
(a) On 5th October Venus crosses Mars which is capable of triggering rainfall or a favourable meteorological condition in the Bay.

(b) On 8th October Mercury crosses the Sun. This could trigger a meteorological system. The continuing combustion of Mercury could favour rainfall.

(c) On 9th October Venus enters Virgo which could trigger a fresh rainfall.

Rainfall spoiling features:-

(1) The presence of Mars in Leo is a rainfall discouraging feature. This continues till 13th October.
(2) On 2nd October Mercury enters Hastha star in sapta Nadi chakra. This is likely to cause more windiness than rainfall.

(3) On 7th October, Venus enters Uttra Phalguni star in Sapta Nadi Chakra. This is likely to cause cloudiness with less rainfall.

Inference:-  Cloud formation and hiding the sun was less compared to yesterday, but the presence of clouds is more today. Garbottam was seen in the 2nd quarter of this day 8. This corresponds to the period of junction between September and October, perhaps between 29th September and 2nd October. It remains to be seen how the spoiling features work during this period.

Day 7 of Garbottam 2016-17 (Wet Navaratri)

Previous articles:-

Day 7 of Garbottam started around midnight of 3rd January 2017 and ended around midnight of 4th January 2017.

The impact would be felt between 13thSeptember 2017 and 26th September 2017.

Observation:

(1) Wind:- Occasional breeze
(2) Rain:- Nil.
(3) Lightening:- Nil.
(4) Thunder:- Nil.
(5) Clouds:-  Cloud formation noticed in the eastern direction after 9-30 AM.

At 9-30 AM

Gradually clouds grew and spread, some of them in mal-formed aquatic forms. From 10-30 AM onwards, clouds started crossing the sun occasionally. By 12 noon, the duration of hiding the sun increased and the frequency of crossing the disc of the sun also increased.

At Noon.

Between 1 PM and 2 PM, huge dark clouds were crossing the sun reducing the heat and light on the ground.

At 1-00 PM

3-some features:-

(1) Terrestrial :- Behaviour of birds normal.

(2) Atmospheric :-  (1) Cool breeze when sun was hidden. (2) Good cloud formation from 10-30 AM onwards. (3) Mal formed aquatic shaped clouds were frequently seen.

(3) Planetary:- (1) Stars appeared clear and bright.  Venus a prominent planet in the western sky looked bright. The ideal condition is to see them dim and faint. (2) All planets were in Southern declination. (3) When moon entered Pisces (watery sign) around 1-00 PM, huge bunches of clouds were seen overhead and they were crossing the disc of the sun often.

Impact dates between 13th September 2017 and 26th September 2017.

Rainfall support features:-

(1) Mercury – Venus closeness is on during this fortnight.  The gap however increases from 13 degrees to 16 degrees during this fortnight. This is sufficient to influence rainfall.
(2) On 15th September Venus enters Leo to join with Mercury, Mars and Sun. This entry period could trigger rainfall.
(3) Mars in Leo would be in conjunction with benefics namely Venus and Mercury from 15th September to 26th September. This period could support rainfall.

Rainfall spoiling features:-

(1) The presence of Mars in Leo is a rainfall discouraging feature. This coexists with supportive feature mentioned in point 3 above. There would be a tug of war like clash between both yogas – rainfall supportive and spoiling.
(2) On September 15th Venus in the western sky would be transiting in Magha star. This is a spoiling Yoga.

Inference:-  The impact period coincides with the celebration of Krishna Jayanthi. Rain on that day in Chennai is not indicated. However this must be further checked in daily Garbottam.
The reasonably good Garbottam features happening between 10-30 AM and 2-00 PM must give rainfall during the 2nd quarter of the fortnight. Particularly the good Garbottam between 1 and 2 PM could give rainfall from 18th to 21st September. This period coincides with the entry of Sun into the next sign (Virgo) and Mahalaya Amavasya. The final outcome depends on the contradictory yogas. However the rainfall supportive yogas look stronger than spoiling yogas thereby making the first part of Navaratri wet.

Day 6 of Garbottam 201-17 ( a terrible wash-out)

Previous articles:-

Day 6 of Garbottam started around midnight of 2nd  January 2017 and ended around midnight of 3rd  January 2017.
The impact would be felt between 30thAugust 2017 and 13th September 2017.

Observation:

(1) Wind:- Hot air rarely felt.
(2) Rain:- Nil.
(3) Lightening:- Nil.
(4) Thunder:- Nil.
(5) Clouds:-  Some cloud formation noticed coming from eastern direction after 9-30 AM. After that the sky was clear for most part of the day.

3-some features:-

(1) Terrestrial :- Behaviour of birds normal.

(2) Atmospheric :-  (1) No breeze in general. (2) Except once around 9-45 AM clouds did not cross the Sun. Less clouds moving in small groups till 11 AM. (3)No aquatic shaped clouds.

(3) Planetary:- (1) Stars appeared clear and bright.  Venus a prominent planet in the western sky looked bright. The ideal condition is to see them dim and faint. (2) All planets were in Southern declination. (3) Moon crossed the disc of Mars around 3 PM. By sunset Moon was seen directly above Mars.

Impact dates between 30th August 2017 and 13th September 2017

This 6th day of Garbottam is a terrible wash out, to say the least. Despite the presence of favourable star and Moon in conjunction with malefics, the sky did not produce any sign of life on this day. The day was hot and dry and cloudless for most part. The impact period has Mercury in combustion which under normal circumstances would favour rainfall in the rainy season. On 25th and 26th August 2017, Mercury would be crossing the Sun which is also a favourable trigger factor for a meteorological event. But Chennai would not reap any benefit out of these transits during this period.

Rainfall support features:-

(1) Mercury – Venus closeness is on during this fortnight.  Mercury keeps moving backwards and closing the gap with Venus.

(2) On 19th August Mercury enters combustion which is a trigger for rainfall or a meteorological event. It comes out of combustion on 4th September which is also a trigger for rainfall and some meteorological event in the rainy season.

Rainfall spoiling features:-

(1) Mars will be in Leo from 27th August onwards. It is joined with retrograde Mercury and Sun during the fortnight under consideration. This is a rainfall spoiling feature.

 Inference:-
This is a terrible wash out day as far as Garbottam is concerned. Chennai would continue to be dry till middle of September. With rainfall support days happening, a good Garbottam in the coming days is eagerly awaited.

Day 5 of Garbottam –(wasted)

Previous articles:-

Day 5 of Garbottam started around midnight of 1st January 2017 and ended around midnight of 2nd January 2017.
The impact would be felt between 16th August 2017 and 30th August 2017.

Observation:

(1) Wind:- Occasional breeze but not cool
(2) Rain:- Nil.
(3) Lightening:- Nil.
(4) Thunder:- Nil.
(5) Clouds:- Right from 10-00 AM onwards, clouds were surging from east and spread everywhere. Clouds were mostly white in colour. For a very few minutes around 10-30 AM, 11-30 AM, noon time, 2-30 PM and 3 PM dark clouds crossed the sun.

At 2-30 PM

3-some features:-

(1) Terrestrial :- Behaviour of birds normal.

(2) Atmospheric :-  (1) Cool breeze whenever the clouds crossed the Sun. (2) Dense clouds were seen on all directions but looked whitish for most part. (3)No aquatic shaped clouds were seen, but at times huge fish like clouds were seen.

(Duck like clouds)

(3) Planetary:- (1) Stars appeared clear and bright.  Venus a prominent planet in the western sky looked bright. The ideal condition is to see them dim and faint. (2) All planets were in Southern declination.

Impact dates between 16th August 2017 and 30th August 2017.
This 5th day is an important day as Moon entered Aquarius around 4-30 AM on the morning of 2nd January to join malefics Mars and Ketu. If there is good Garbottam on the day(s) Moon or Sun is joining malefics, the impact days would see rainfall from storms or accompanied with thunder showers. Though there was good presence of clouds for most part of the day, they looked wasted. The crossing of the Sun for prolonged time did not happen.

Rainfall support features:-

On 8th August 8th 2017, Mercury begins retrogression and on 19th August it enters into combustion. These two dates must see some meteorological events though it might not result in good rains. Only on 27th August, the closeness between Mercury and Venus begins. This is a good feature and this is going to last till October 8th, 2017.

No planet is in spoiler kind of stars of Sapta Nadi Chakra.

Rainfall spoiling features:-

The rainfall giving closeness between Mercury and Venus begins late in the fortnight on 27th August only.

But on the same date, Mars enters Leo, the sign owned by fiery Sun. When Mars occupies Leo during rainy season, it would reduce the rainfall. However by 15th September, an improvement would be there as Venus, a benefic would join Mars. Mars with benefics in Leo is good for rainfall. But such a development happens in the upcoming fortnights only.

Inference:-  With less duration of dark clouds crossing the sun on a day Moon joins malefics and star of the day, the Garbottam looks a wasted one. However the dark clouds crossing the sun post noon, could give moderate rains after Mercury starts combustion on 19th  August. There is however a tug of war like impact on rainfall by Mars in Leo on the one hand and Mercury and Venus on the other from 27th onwards.

As we enter the 6th day of Garbottam, Moon is going to be in company of malefics for one more day and the star transited by Moon would be a favourable one for rainfall. It all remains to be seen whether tomorrow (3rd January 2017) would see cloudy weather.

Day 4 of Garbottam 2016-17 (Moderate)

Previous articles:-

Day 4 of Garbottam started around 11-20 PM on 31st December 2016 and ended at around midnight on the night of 1st January 2017.
The impact would be felt between 2nd August 2017 and 16th August 2017.

Observation:
(1) Wind:- Cool breeze from North and east at times.
(2) Rain:- Nil.
(3) Lightening:- Nil.
(4) Thunder:- Nil.
(5) Clouds:- Thick bunches of clouds with bluish grey patches seen surging in East, West and Southern parts of the sky. This went on a little past noon.

At 7-30 AM

Clouds in the form of opened mouth of crocodile were seen often.

3-some features:-

(1) Terrestrial :- Behaviour of birds normal.

(2) Atmospheric :-  (1) Cool breeze whenever the clouds crossed the Sun. (2) Sun was crossed by bunches of dark clouds around 7-30 AM and many times between 10-30 AM and 12-30 PM. (4) No aquatic shaped clouds were seen, but clouds often turned into the shape of opened mouth of crocodile. (5) The Sun was red while setting and setting sky also was reddish.

(3) Planetary:- (1) Stars appeared clear and bright.  Venus a prominent planet in the western sky looked bright. The ideal condition is to see them dim and faint. (2) All planets were in Southern declination. (3) The 3rd phase of moon looked near equal on tips with a very slight upward tilt on North. For the current month, the North tip must be higher.

Impact dates between 2nd August 2017 and 16th August 2017.

The presence of very good cloud coverage in the 2nd  quarter of the Garbottam day (from morning till noon) accompanied with cool breeze was a good feature of Garbottam.

At 10-30 AM

At Noon

It is reported that it drizzled in some parts of Chennai in the morning hours. That is a very good Garbottam feature.

Rainfall support features:-

None except the presence of Venus and mercury in the western sky. But this is not a strong rainfall yoga.

Rainfall spoiling features:-

(1) No closeness between Mercury and Venus. Throughout the fortnight, they are more than 50 degrees apart.

(2) Venus will be in Nirjala Nadi in the Sapta nadi Chakra (in Punarvasu star) between August 12th and 24th of 2017. This would form cloudy conditions but would not give rains.

Inference:- The moderate Garbottam features seen between 10-30 AM and 12-30 PM correspond to the 2nd quarter of the fortnight between 2nd August and 16th August. This period falls between 5th August to 8th August. There is no rainfall supportive yoga and not any strong spoiling yoga, though Mercury and Venus are far apart during this period. If it rains in this period, it is due to its Garbottam strength.
